RSSB Forest Guard Recruitment 2026: The Rajasthan Staff Selection Commission (RSSB) has announced recruitment for Forest Guard and Forester positions by issuing a short notification. However, the notification does not yet provide application dates. It is expected that the Commission will begin accepting applications soon.

A total of 785 vacant positions will be filled under this recruitment drive. These include 259 Forester positions, 483 Forest Guard positions, and 43 Surveyor positions.

Apply for 12th Pass
Candidates applying for the Forester position must have passed a Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination. Passing the 10th standard is mandatory for the Forest Guard position. The minimum age for both positions is 18 years, and the maximum age is 40 years. Candidates must also have knowledge of Rajasthani culture and be able to work in Hindi with the Devanagari script.

For the post of Surveyor, candidates must have passed 12th grade, along with an ITI certificate in civil surveying or a diploma in civil engineering. The minimum age for this position is 18 years, and the maximum age is 24 years.

What is the application fee?
For this recruitment, candidates from the General, Creamy Layer, OBC, and MBC categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹600. For non-creamy layer OBC/MBC, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and differently-abled candidates, the application fee is ₹400. All differently-abled candidates will also have to pay ₹400. The Commission has clarified that candidates from other states applying under reserved categories will be considered in the General category and will have to pay an application fee of ₹600.

Physical Fitness Criteria
Physical criteria have also been set for recruitment. Male candidates must have a minimum height of 163 cm and a chest girth of 84 cm (including a 5 cm expansion), while women must have a height of 150 cm and a chest girth of 79 cm (including a 5 cm expansion). Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (ST) category and certain areas are exempted, with the minimum height set at 152 cm for men and 145 cm for women.

There will also be a physical efficiency test. Male candidates will be required to walk 25 kilometers in 4 hours, while female candidates will be required to walk 16 kilometers in 4 hours.
