The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) may release the notification for the Station Master recruitment (RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026) at any time. According to reports, the Railways will invite applications for 1,200 vacant Station Master positions. Many young aspirants are eagerly awaiting the start of the application process to fulfill their dream of securing a job with the Railways.

Selection Process for Station Master
The RRB has simplified the selection process for the Station Master position. Previously, candidates were required to appear for two stages of examinations—CBT 1 and CBT 2.

However, starting this time, candidates will only need to take a single Computer-Based Test (CBT). Based on the results of this CBT, candidates numbering eight times the total number of vacancies will be shortlisted to appear for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Following the CBAT, candidates will undergo Document Verification (DV) and a Medical Examination (ME). A final merit list will be released after the completion of all these stages.

The written examination carries a weightage of 70%, while the CBAT carries a weightage of 30%. Candidates selected for the position of Station Master will receive a basic salary of ₹35,400 (Level 6, as per the 7th Pay Commission). The actual "in-hand" salary will be higher, as various additional allowances will be included.

Eligibility for Graduates
To apply for the Station Master position, candidates must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university or institution. Additionally, candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age. Candidates from reserved categories will be granted relaxations in the upper age limit, in accordance with existing rules.
