RRB JE Vacancy 2026: There is great news for young aspirants preparing for government jobs in the Railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is set to release a notification soon for a major recruitment drive covering various technical posts, including Junior Engineer (JE). The Railway Board has approved the vacancies for this recruitment and has already communicated the details of the sanctioned posts to all Zonal Railways and Production Units. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 4,098 appointments will be made across 35 distinct technical categories. Through this recruitment drive, engineers will be appointed across several key technical departments of the Railways.
Electrical Department: Junior Engineers will be recruited for branches such as Design & Drawing, TRS, General Service, Power, and Workshop within the Electrical Department.

Civil Engineering Department: Posts related to Bridge, P-Way, Works, Design & Drawing, and Research & Development have been included in the Civil Engineering Department.

Mechanical Department: Junior Engineers will be appointed in various branches of the Mechanical Department, such as Carriage & Wagon, Diesel Shed, Production Unit (PU), Design & Drawing, and Workshop.

**ALP CBT-2 Exam to be held on July 28**
The Railway Recruitment Board has also announced the tentative date for the Computer-Based Test (CBT-2) for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment. This exam is scheduled to be held on July 28, 2026. Approximately 10 days prior to the exam, candidates will be able to view details regarding the exam city and date on their respective RRB websites. Candidates belonging to SC and ST categories will also be able to download their travel authority via the same link. E-call letters will be issued approximately four days before the exam.

**Mandatory to carry Photo ID and Aadhaar**
The Railway Recruitment Board has clarified that upon entering the exam center, candidates must carry the same original photo identity card details of which were provided during the application process. Candidates will not be permitted to take the exam if they do not possess the original identity card. Candidates who have undergone Aadhaar verification must keep their Aadhaar unlocked on the day of the exam to facilitate smooth biometric verification.
