Railway RRB Group D Vacancy 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has decided to postpone the application process for Group D recruitment 2026. A total of approximately 22,000 vacancies are to be filled in various zones and departments of the Indian Railways. The name and date of birth on the Aadhaar card must exactly match the details mentioned in the Class 10 certificate. Job aspirants were also instructed to update their latest photo and biometric information, such as fingerprints and iris scans, in their Aadhaar to avoid any problems during the recruitment process.
The board had clarified that applications not verified through Aadhaar may face delays and inconvenience at various stages, as additional verification processes may be required.
RRB Group D Vacancy 2026: Highest Vacancies in the Engineering Department
Department-wise Distribution of Vacancies: Out of the 22,000 vacancies in Group D, the highest number of vacancies are in the Engineering department, with 12,500 sanctioned posts. Track Maintainer Grade-4 alone accounts for 11,000 posts. Other posts include 5,000 vacancies for Traffic Point B, 1,500 for Assistant (S&T), 1,000 for Assistant (C&W), 800 for Assistant (TRD), 600 each for Assistant (Track Machine) and Assistant (Bridge), 300 for Assistant (P-Way), 500 for Assistant Operations, and 200 for Assistant Loco Shed. Region-wise, East Central Railway has been allocated 993 posts, and South Eastern Railway has been allocated 1,199 posts. Post-wise and zone-wise details will be confirmed only after the detailed notification is released.
