The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the recruitment notice for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts for the year 2026. Through this recruitment drive, a total of 11,127 vacancies will be filled across various railway zones within the country. When Will Applications Begin?

What is the Salary?
The Assistant Loco Pilot post falls under Level-2 of the 7th Pay Commission pay scale. Upon selection for this position, the initial basic pay will be ₹19,900 per month. In addition to this, candidates will be entitled to various other allowances and perks provided by the Railways, which will further enhance the total take-home salary.
Who Can Apply?
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have passed the 10th grade and hold an ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT) from a recognized institution. Candidates holding a Diploma (in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile engineering) or a B.E./B.Tech degrees in a relevant trade are also eligible to apply. Several trades are valid for candidates holding an ITI qualification; these include Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Diesel Mechanic, Machinist, Turner, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic, among others.
