Recruitment ranging from doctors to nurses: Approval granted for filling 3,000 posts in the Karnataka Health Department..
The Karnataka Health Department is set to recruit personnel for numerous positions in the near future. Karnataka Health Minister U.T. Khader has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for healthcare workers. He also announced several significant initiatives, including expanding the scope of health insurance for citizens, government employees, and senior citizens, as well as strengthening emergency medical services. Khader shared these details during a press conference, stating that the state government has expedited the recruitment process for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians in Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
**Recruitment of 1,000 Healthcare Workers**
The Health Minister noted that approximately 200 MBBS doctors have been inducted into government service over the past month and a half, while the recruitment process for around 1,000 healthcare workers is currently underway. Further recruitment for the Health Department is planned for the future, with approval already granted for filling approximately 3,000 additional posts.
**Addition of 450 New Ambulance Services**
The Health Minister further stated that emergency medical services are being made more effective. The government will add 450 new '108' ambulances to the service, bringing the total number of ambulances in the state to over 750. He mentioned that the government aims for ambulances to reach patients within 15 minutes in urban areas and 20 minutes in rural areas. Additionally, 100 motorcycle ambulances will also be introduced.
The Health Minister informed that work is ongoing regarding the 'Ayushman Karnataka' health insurance scheme. He also mentioned that the state government is set to launch a health scheme named 'Sandhya Kiran' for retired government employees. Furthermore, preparations are underway to launch the 'Vayo Vandana' scheme for senior citizens aged 70 and above; approval from the central government is currently awaited.
