The online application process for the Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment is scheduled to begin on May 15, 2026. Interested candidates may submit their applications until 12:00 AM (midnight) on June 14, 2026. How Many Posts Will Be Filled?
Under this recruitment drive, a total of 11,127 vacancies will be filled. These posts are distributed across various railway zones throughout the country. The Railways has further clarified that the allocation of posts will be determined based on the specific railway zones; detailed information regarding this distribution will be provided in the official notification. Furthermore, for this recruitment process, the minimum age limit for candidates has been set at 18 years, and the maximum age limit at 30 years. Age eligibility will be calculated based on a specified cut-off date. Additionally, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with government regulations. Additionally, selected candidates will receive an initial salary of ₹19,900 under Pay Level-2, along with other allowances.
What are the eligibility criteria for the recruitment process?
To apply for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. Furthermore, they must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Additionally, candidates holding a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering are also eligible to apply. The selection of candidates in this recruitment drive will be conducted through a multi-stage process. It will commence with a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This will be followed by the conduct of CBT-2. Subsequently, a Computer-Based Aptitude Test will be administered; candidates who successfully clear these stages will be called for document verification and a medical examination.
