Recruitment for Over 1,000 Lecturers: Applications Open Tomorrow – Check Eligibility

Vacancies for lecturer posts have been announced in Punjab. Candidates can apply via the official website starting tomorrow.

The Punjab government has announced recruitment for lecturer positions. Online applications for this recruitment drive will begin on July 1, 2026, and remain open until July 31, 2026. If you hold a Master's degree in the relevant subject and a B.Ed. degree, this could be an excellent opportunity to secure a government job.

A total of 1,013 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. Of these, 829 are new posts, while 184 are backlog vacancies. The highest number of recruitments will be in History (210 posts). Additionally, appointments will be made for English (141), Political Science (131), Mathematics (105), Punjabi (99), Commerce (98), Physics (58), Economics (50), Chemistry (41), Biology (37), Hindi (29), and Geography (14).

Who can apply?

To apply for this recruitment, candidates must possess a Master's degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks. A B.Ed. degree from a recognized institution is also mandatory. Candidates must be citizens of India and must have studied Punjabi as either a compulsory or elective subject in Class 10.

What is the age limit?

The minimum age for applicants is set at 18 years, and the maximum at 37 years. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD (Persons with Disabilities), and other reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with Punjab government rules.

How will the selection take place?

The recruitment process will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will consist of a written examination worth 300 marks. Notably, there will be no negative marking in this exam. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for document verification in the second stage. Appointments will subsequently be made based on the final merit list.

What will the salary be?

Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary ranging from ₹34,500 to ₹35,400 during the initial three-year probation period. Allowances such as DA and HRA will not be provided during this time. Upon completion of the probation period, candidates will receive the regular pay scale along with other government allowances.

After completing the initial registration, log in and enter your educational and personal details. Next, upload your photograph, signature, and required documents. Pay the application fee online. Thoroughly review all information before submitting the form, and keep a printout for your records after final submission.
