West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) has released a notification for bumper recruitment on 35,726 posts of Assistant Teacher. The online application process for this recruitment has started from 16 June 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official website westbengalssc.com.

On which posts will the recruitment be done?

Assistant Teacher (Class 9th and 10th) – 23,212 posts
Assistant Teacher (Class 11th and 12th) – 12,514 posts
Total posts – 35,726

What should be the educational qualification?

For 9th and 10th – At least 50% marks in graduation or post graduation and B.Ed or four-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed degree

For 11th and 12th – At least 50% marks in post graduation or B.Ed or equivalent degree

Age limit

The minimum age of the candidates applying has been fixed at 21 years. While the maximum age of the candidates applying is fixed at 40 years. On the other hand, SC/ST category will be given 5 years relaxation and OBC will be given 3 years and PH candidates will be given 8 years relaxation.

This much is the application fee

The general category candidates applying will have to pay a fee of Rs 500. While the fee for SC/ST/PH category candidates has been kept at Rs 200.

How much salary will be given?

The selected candidates will get a salary ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs 65,000 every month. This amount will be decided according to experience and post.

Selection process

The candidates will be selected in two phases. It includes written test and interview. The written test will have MCQ (multiple choice questions). The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. At the same time, the language will be English and Bengali. The special thing in the exam is that there will be no negative marking.
