Recruitment for 758 Engineer Posts in Odisha; Applications Open October 22

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of 758 Assistant Executive Engineers. This recruitment is for Group-A posts within the Odisha Engineering Service Cadre. The vacancies comprise 750 posts for Civil Engineering and 8 posts for Mechanical Engineering. A total of 758 posts are to be filled under Advertisement No. 13/2026-27 issued by the OPSC. These positions fall under the Group-A cadre of the Odisha Engineering Service. Age Limit for Recruitment

The minimum age for candidates applying for this recruitment is set at 21 years, and the maximum age at 42 years. Age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026. Accordingly, candidates must not have been born before January 2, 1984, or after January 1, 2005. Age relaxation will be granted to candidates belonging to reserved categories, women, ex-servicemen, and persons with disabilities, in accordance with the rules.

Selection Based on GATE Score and Interview

There is no provision for a separate written examination in the OPSC recruitment selection process. Candidates will be selected based on a valid GATE score in the relevant engineering branch and an interview. The selection process assigns a 90% weightage to the GATE score and a 10% weightage to the interview. The Commission may shortlist approximately twice the number of candidates as there are category-wise vacancies for the interview. Therefore, possessing a valid GATE score for the relevant year and engineering branch is mandatory for candidates.
