Recruitment for 7,500 Police Constable Posts in MP; Apply by October 6

The MPESB has commenced the online application process for the recruitment of 7,500 police constables under the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department. Recruitment for these posts will be conducted for the Special Armed Force (SAF) and Non-SAF cadres.

The recruitment process has begun for candidates aspiring to become police constables in Madhya Pradesh. The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) has started accepting online applications for 7,500 Police Constable (GD) posts under the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department. Recruitment will cover both Special Armed Force and Non-SAF cadres. The application process opened on September 22, 2026, and candidates can submit their online forms until October 6, 2026. The official notification for this recruitment was released on September 9. A correction window will also remain open from September 22 to October 11 to allow candidates to rectify any errors in their applications.

10th Pass Candidates Eligible to Apply

For the police constable recruitment, candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories must have passed the 10th standard. For Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates from Madhya Pradesh, the minimum qualification is an 8th-standard pass. Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of October 6, 2026. Reserved category candidates will be granted relaxation in the maximum age limit as per the rules.

What is the Application Fee?

Regarding the application fee, an examination fee of ₹500 has been set for General category candidates and those from other states. Meanwhile, the fee is ₹250 for EWS, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Additionally, there will be separate charges for applying via the portal. A portal fee of ₹60 applies for applications made through MP Online kiosks, while registered citizen users will be charged ₹20. Payment for these fees must also be made online.

PET and Physical Test Following the Written Exam

The selection process begins with a 100-mark computer-based examination. This is followed by a 100-mark Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test, document verification, and a medical examination. The PET includes an 800-meter race, long jump, and shot put. For the 800-meter race, male candidates must complete the run in 198.3 seconds, while female candidates must complete it in 261.8 seconds. The minimum distance for the long jump is set at 2.96 meters for men and 2.04 meters for women; for the shot put, the standard is 3.8 meters for men and 2.85 meters for women.

Physical Standards for Candidates

For the Special Armed Force (SAF), the minimum height requirement for General and OBC male candidates is 168 cm; the standard is 157 cm for men belonging to the Gorkha, Garhwali, and Kumaon categories, and 165 cm for Maratha, SC, and ST candidates. For other cadres, the height requirement is 168 cm for UR, SC, and OBC candidates, and 160 cm for ST male candidates. The minimum height for female candidates is set at 155 cm. Chest measurements will also be taken in accordance with recruitment rules.

Exam Begins on November 19

According to the MPESB, the Police Constable recruitment examination will commence on November 19, 2026. To apply, candidates must complete profile registration and the mandatory KYC process on the official MPESB website, esb.mp.gov.in. Subsequently, they must visit the Police Constable recruitment link to enter their personal and educational details. The form also requires information regarding the choice of SAF or non-SAF cadre, district/unit, and preferred exam city. After uploading the photograph, signature, and necessary documents, candidates must pay the application fee and submit the form.
