There is good news for young people preparing for government jobs in Gujarat. The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has initiated a recruitment drive for thousands of driver positions. A total of 4,599 vacancies will be filled under this campaign. Interested and eligible candidates can apply via the Online Job Application System (OJAS) portal. Selection will be based on a written examination and a driving test.

Before applying, candidates should carefully review the requirements regarding educational qualifications, driving licenses, experience, and other conditions to avoid any issues during the application process. GSRTC has invited online applications for this large-scale recruitment of drivers. Through this drive, the corporation aims to fill 4,599 vacant posts across the state. Eligible candidates can apply through the OJAS portal within the stipulated timeframe.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
Candidates applying for the recruitment must possess the prescribed educational qualifications and have general knowledge of computers. Additionally, holding a valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) or Heavy Passenger Vehicle (HPV) driving license is mandatory.

Candidates must also meet the criteria regarding driving experience. The corporation has clarified that the experience period will be calculated starting from the date the eligible driving license was issued. All original certificates and the valid license must be presented during document verification and the driving test.

**Selection Process**
The selection process will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will consist of a 100-mark OMR-based written examination featuring objective-type questions. Candidates who qualify in the written exam will be called for the driving test. The driving test will carry 50 marks; candidates must secure a minimum of 35 marks to pass. Those failing to achieve the prescribed minimum marks will be considered ineligible.

**Application Fee and Process**
Candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay ₹300 plus applicable GST. Meanwhile, the fee for EWS, SC, ST, SEBC, female, ex-serviceman, and differently-abled candidates has been set at ₹200 plus applicable GST.

To apply, candidates should visit the OJAS portal, select the recruitment advertisement, fill in personal and educational details, enter information regarding licenses and experience, upload their photograph and signature, pay the fee, and submit the form. It is also essential to retain a copy of the application form for future reference.
