Who is Eligible to Apply?
To apply for the Food Safety Officer post, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in a relevant subject. Eligible subjects include Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Processing and Preservation, Food Biotechnology, Food Safety and Quality Management, Technology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Engineering, Fisheries, Food Nutrition, and Horticulture. Additionally, candidates holding degrees in Veterinary Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Medicine are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit: 18 to 42 Years
For this recruitment, candidates must be between 18 and 42 years of age as of October 19, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with government regulations.
What is the Application Fee?
The application fee varies by category. The fee for General male candidates is ₹1,000. A fee of ₹250 has been fixed for OSC, DSC, BC-A (NCL), BC-B (NCL), ESM, and EWS candidates. Meanwhile, no fee will be charged to PwBD candidates with a disability of 40% or more. The fee can be paid online.
Selection Process: Screening Followed by Further Stages
Selection for the HPSC FSO recruitment will be based on a screening test, a subject knowledge test, and an interview. This will be followed by document verification and a medical examination.
