A great opportunity has arrived for the youth of Madhya Pradesh to secure government jobs. For candidates who have been preparing for competitive exams for a long time, the Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (MPESB) has released an official notification for recruitment to a total of 1,679 posts in the Forest Department and Jail Department. This recruitment drive will provide opportunities for uniformed government jobs in various districts across the state. This is a golden opportunity for young people who wish to serve in the Forest Department or Jail Department. This recruitment drive will fill important positions such as Jail Prahari, Forest Guard, Field Guard, and Assistant Jail Superintendent. Fortunately, many of these positions require only a 10th-grade qualification, allowing even less educated candidates to apply.

Which posts will be recruited?

A total of 1,679 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive, including 757 Jail Guards, 728 Forest Guards, 169 Field Guards, and 25 Assistant Jail Superintendents. All these posts will be located in various districts of Madhya Pradesh. Selected candidates will be appointed to their respective departments.

Important Application Dates

The online application process has begun on February 28, 2026. Interested candidates can apply until March 14, 2026. Any errors in filling out the application form can be corrected until March 19, 2026. The written examination will be held on April 7, 2026. Candidates are advised not to wait for the deadline and complete their applications on time.

Selection Process and Application Fee

Candidates will be selected through several stages: a Computer-Based Written Examination (CBT), followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). After completing these stages, document verification and medical examination will be conducted, and a final merit list of candidates who succeed in all processes will be released. The application fee is ₹500 per question paper for the general category, while SC, ST, OBC, and differently-abled candidates will have to pay ₹250 per question paper. Furthermore, the portal fee is ₹60 through kiosks and ₹20 through citizen users.

What will be the salary for the post?

Regarding the pay scale, Forest Guard, Jail Prahari, and Field Guard positions will receive a salary ranging from ₹19,500 to ₹62,000 (Level-4), while Assistant Jail Superintendents will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹36,200 to ₹1,14,800, along with other government allowances.
