If you dream of becoming a Sub-Inspector (SI) in the Bihar Police, there is good news: the BPSSC has issued a notification for the recruitment of 150 Police Sub-Inspectors in the Special Branch. Interested candidates can apply online from July 9, 2026, to August 9, 2026.
A total of 150 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. These posts are divided into various reserved and unreserved categories. Candidates can read the official notification for detailed information regarding the seat distribution.
Candidates applying for this recruitment must hold a graduation degree from a recognized university. Final-year students are not eligible to apply.
The minimum age for applicants is 20 years. The maximum age limit varies by category. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation in accordance with government rules.
The application fee is also determined by category. The fee is set at ₹700 for General, OBC, EWS, and out-of-state candidates, while it is ₹400 for SC, ST, and all female candidates from Bihar.
Candidates will have to go through four stages for this recruitment. First, a preliminary examination will be held. Candidates who qualify will appear for the main examination. This will be followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which includes events such as running, long jump, high jump, and shot put. Finally, the merit list will be released after document verification.
