There is good news for candidates aspiring to build a career as doctors in government hospitals. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur has invited applications for the recruitment of 121 Senior Residents (Non-Academic) across various departments. These appointments will be for a tenure of three years. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online until August 16. Notably, the recruitment covers several key medical specialties, offering opportunities to a large number of candidates.

According to the notification issued by AIIMS Raipur, recruitment will be conducted for a total of 121 Senior Resident (Group-A) posts. This includes 44 posts for the General category, 37 for OBC, 20 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 13 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 7 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). The recruitment is being conducted for various medical and super-specialty departments.

Which departments have vacancies?
Vacancies have been announced for departments including Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Trauma and Emergency, Nephrology, Microbiology, Pathology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Radio-diagnosis, Oncology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Forensic Medicine, and Community and Family Medicine. The highest number of vacancies—10—is in the Trauma and Emergency department, while 8 posts are available in General Medicine and 6 in General Surgery.

Application process and deadline
The online application process began on August 6. Candidates are required to apply via a Google Form. The deadline for applications is August 16. Interested candidates are advised to complete the application process within the stipulated timeframe rather than waiting until the last moment.

What are the required educational qualifications? Candidates applying for these posts must possess an MD, MS, DNB, or equivalent postgraduate medical degree in the relevant subject from a recognized institution or university. A diploma in the relevant subject will also be accepted for certain posts. However, for positions in the School of Public Health, an MD/DNB in ​​Community Medicine or PSM is mandatory, while an MDS degree in the relevant specialty is required for the Dentistry department.

**Age Limit and Relaxation**
The maximum age limit for candidates is set at 45 years. Age will be calculated based on the last date for the receipt of applications. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be eligible for age relaxation in accordance with Central Government rules.

**Selection Process**
The selection of candidates will be conducted in multiple stages. Initially, the applications received will be scrutinized. Subsequently, candidates will be shortlisted based on their educational qualifications and experience. A written or screening examination may also be conducted if deemed necessary. Final selection will be based on an interview and a merit list.

**Salary Details**
Selected candidates will receive a salary in Pay Matrix Level-11 under the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC). Accordingly, the initial basic pay will be ₹67,700 per month. In addition, candidates will be entitled to other prescribed allowances and benefits.

**Application Fee**
Candidates are required to pay the application fee online, based on their category. The application fee is ₹1,000 for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates. Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-servicemen candidates are exempted from the application fee.
