Recruitment drive for 3,687 Assistant Professor posts in Bihar; apply by July 15..
There is significant news for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors in Bihar. The Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 3,687 Assistant Professors on a contract basis across 211 new government degree colleges in the state. **Appointments to be made in these six subjects**
Applications have been invited for the subjects of Hindi, English, History, Economics, Political Science, and Sociology under this recruitment drive. The subject-wise vacancies include 674 posts for English, 662 for History, 625 for Hindi, 597 for Economics, 596 for Political Science, and 533 for Sociology.
**Who can apply?**
To apply, a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 55% marks is mandatory. A minimum of 50% marks is required for candidates belonging to reserved categories. Candidates must possess NET, SET, or PhD qualifications. In accordance with UGC regulations, candidates holding a PhD may be exempted from the NET/SET requirement.
**Age limit and salary**
The minimum age for candidates is set at 21 years, and the maximum at 43 years. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), and Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) will receive a 5-year relaxation in the maximum age limit. Selected candidates will receive a basic salary of ₹57,700, along with Dearness Allowance (DA) and other admissible benefits.
**Selection process**
The recruitment process will be based on a total of 100 marks. Of these, 88 marks are allocated for academic achievements and 12 marks for the interview. Following the scrutiny of applications, notifications regarding the interview will be issued on July 17 and 18. Interviews will be conducted between July 20 and July 27. The merit list will be released on July 29, college allotment will take place on August 1, and selected candidates must join their respective colleges by August 7.
