**Who Can Apply?**
For the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), candidates are required to possess a 3-year Diploma or a Degree in Civil Engineering. For Diploma holders, a minimum of 65% marks is required, while 55% marks are considered valid for SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. For Degree holders, 55% marks are mandatory, with the requirement set at 45% marks for SC/ST and PwD candidates.
For the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical), candidates must possess a 3-year Diploma or a Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In this case as well, 65% marks are required for Diploma holders (55% for SC/ST and PwD candidates), and 55% marks are required for Degree holders (45% for SC/ST and PwD candidates).
The prescribed age limit for this position is set between 20 and 30 years; candidates falling within this age bracket are eligible to apply online.
**Experience Criteria**
For the Junior Engineer (Civil) post, Diploma holders are required to have 2 years of experience in construction/maintenance work, whereas Degree holders must possess 1 year of experience in a PSU or have completed a 1-year apprenticeship. For the position of Junior Engineer (Electrical), Diploma holders are required to possess 2 years of experience in electrical-related building works, while Degree holders require 1 year of experience in a PSU or 1 year of apprenticeship.
Selection Process: How Selection Will Be Conducted
Selection for the RBI Junior Engineer Recruitment 2026 will be based on an online examination and a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The online examination will carry a total of 300 marks and is scheduled to be held on June 6, 2026.
The examination will consist of a total of 4 sections: English Language (50 marks), Engineering Subject Paper-I (100 marks), Engineering Subject Paper-II (100 marks), and General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 marks). The total duration of the examination will be 150 minutes, during which a total of 180 questions will be asked.
