Rajasthan Police SI Recruitment 2021: The Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) and Platoon Commander recruitment process for 2021 is set to be conducted anew. Acting upon the recommendation of the State Government, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has cancelled the original Rajasthan Police SI recruitment drive of 2021. The Commission will soon issue a notification regarding the fresh recruitment process. This new recruitment drive will be initiated from scratch, and relevant details will be uploaded to the Commission's website shortly. Notably, the Supreme Court had recently delivered a verdict upholding the cancellation of the recruitment process while hearing a petition related to the 2021 Police SI recruitment.

Let us understand the specifics of the Rajasthan SI Recruitment 2021 case. When will the application process for the new recruitment begin? Furthermore, let us determine who is eligible to apply for this fresh recruitment drive. We will explore all these aspects in detail.

**New Candidates Will Not Be Able to Apply**
New candidates will not be eligible to apply for the Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector (SI) and Platoon Commander recruitment of 2021. Commission Chairman Utkal Ranjan Sahoo provided this information in an official statement. He clarified that for the re-conducted SI recruitment of 2021, only those candidates who had appeared for the written examination held during the original 2021 recruitment cycle will be permitted to apply. The number of such candidates stands at approximately 3.83 lakhs.

**Opportunity to Correct Application Forms from May 16**
The Rajasthan Police SI recruitment process for 2021 is about to resume. Consequently, the 3.83 lakh eligible candidates will not be required to submit a fresh application from scratch. However, these candidates will be provided an opportunity to make corrections to their existing application forms; specifically, candidates will be able to update their mobile numbers, email addresses, and residential addresses within their forms. The window for making these corrections will remain open from May 16 to May 30. Furthermore, even those candidates who do not wish to make any changes to their application forms are mandatorily required to access their online application forms during this period and provide their formal consent. KYC Update Mandatory in OTR; No Changes to Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

To reapply for the Rajasthan Police SI Recruitment 2021, candidates are required to update their KYC details within the One Time Registration (OTR) system while filling out the application form. It will also be possible to make changes to the SOS ID within the OTR system. This process will enable the system to automatically fetch the candidate's live photograph, signature, and thumb impression from the OTR profile.

Meanwhile, the Commission has clarified that while the SI Recruitment 2021 process is being restarted, no changes have been made to any of the eligibility criteria associated with the recruitment.

Recruitment for 859 Posts; Over 7 Lakh Applications Received; Cancelled Due to Paper Leak
In 2021, the Rajasthan Police invited applications for the recruitment of 859 Sub-Inspector (SI) posts. Over 700,000 applications were received. Subsequently, the selection process—including a written examination and physical tests—was conducted. Following the interviews, the final results were declared in 2023; however, shortly after the results were published, a case involving a paper leak in the SI recruitment examination came to light.

The matter reached the Rajasthan High Court. On August 28, 2025, a Single Bench of the High Court delivered a verdict cancelling the SI recruitment. Subsequently, in 2026, a Double Bench of the High Court upheld the decision to cancel the recruitment process. While cancelling the recruitment, the Single Bench of the High Court had raised questions regarding the role played by the then-Chairman and members of the RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission) in the paper leak scandal. Furthermore, in connection with this case, one member of the RPSC has already been arrested in connection with the paper leak.

Meanwhile, candidates who had been selected in the recruitment process challenged the High Court's Double Bench verdict in the Supreme Court. Dismissing the candidates' petition, the Supreme Court issued an order upholding the cancellation of the recruitment.
