Railway Vacancy: There is an excellent opportunity for an apprenticeship with Indian Railways. Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has invited applications for 6,777 apprenticeship vacancies. The online application process begins on July 20, and the deadline is August 19, 2026. Applications must be submitted via the official website: nfr.indianrailways.gov.in.

According to the notification, candidates for the apprenticeship at Northeast Frontier Railway will be selected based on a merit list. This is a golden opportunity for individuals who have passed Class 10 and ITI to work with the Railways.

Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board with at least 50% marks.

Candidates must have completed ITI in the relevant trade.
The ITI certificate must be issued by an institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
For the posts of Medical Laboratory Technician (Pathology) and Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology), candidates must have passed Class 12 under the 10+2 system. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology must have been subjects in Class 12, and a minimum of 50% marks is required in both Class 10 and Class 12.

Age Limit
Minimum age: 15 years.
Maximum age: 24 years (as of August 19, 2026).
Age relaxation will be provided based on category, in accordance with Railway rules.

Application Fee
Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹100/- (Rupees one hundred only) online. The fee must be paid via the payment gateway link provided in the notification.

(a) Once the online application is complete in all respects, candidates will be directed to the payment gateway link available on the NFR official website to make the fee payment.

(b) Upon successful payment of the fee, candidates will be redirected to the website, where they can complete the remaining stages of the application process and download their application form.

(c) If candidates are unable to download their application form due to an issue related to fee payment, they can re-verify the payment with the payment gateway by clicking the "Verify Payment" button.

Exemption from Application Fee
(a) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Economically Backward Classes (EBC), as well as female candidates, are exempted from paying the application fee.

(b) To avail of the application fee exemption under the Economically Backward Class (EBC) category, the annual family income of the candidate must be less than ₹50,000 (fifty thousand rupees).
