Northern Railway has provided a significant opportunity for young people this time. The RRC NR has issued a notification for recruitment to apprentice positions. This recruitment will be for the 2025-26 session, and 10th- and ITI-qualified candidates across the country can apply. Online applications will begin on November 25th and continue until December 24, 2025.
To apply for this recruitment, candidates must have at least 50% marks in the 10th board exam and an NCVT or SCVT-accredited ITI certificate in the relevant trade. This recruitment is skill-based, so having ITI-level knowledge and practical knowledge is considered essential. Those without ITI will not be able to apply.
The minimum age for application is 15 years, and the maximum age is 24 years. Age will be calculated from December 24, 2025. As per government rules, SC/ST candidates will be given a 5-year relaxation and OBC candidates will be given a 3-year relaxation. Disabled candidates will be eligible for additional age relaxation.
There will be no written examination or interview for these posts. Selection will be made solely from a merit list based on the average of marks obtained in 10th and ITI. If two candidates have the same marks, the older one will be given preference. Document verification of all selected candidates will then be conducted.
The application fee for General and OBC category candidates is ₹100. While for SC, ST, PwBD, and all female candidates, the application fee is completely free. Upon selection, the apprentice will be given a stipend during training, which is determined as per the rules of the Apprentice Act 1961.
