Railway PLW Vacancy 2025: Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW) has released the notification for PLW Apprentice Recruitment 2025. According to the notification, 225 apprentice positions have been announced in various trades. Interested and eligible candidates holding ITI qualification can apply online through the official website of PLW by December 22, 2025.

PLW Apprentice 2025: Educational and Technical Qualification
Minimum educational qualifications have been prescribed for various apprentice trades at Patiala Locomotive Works. For Electrician, Mechanic (Diesel), Engineer, and Fitter trades, candidates must have passed 10th standard with Science and Mathematics and secured a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates who have passed 8th standard can also apply for the Welder (G&E) trade.
As per the technical qualification, training in the relevant ITI trade is mandatory for each trade.
PLW Apprentice 2025 Registration fees: Application Fee
The application fee for PLW Apprentice recruitment will be charged category-wise. The application fee is zero for SC, ST, PwBD, and female candidates, while all other candidates have to pay Rs. 100 (including applicable bank charges) as the application fee. Understanding the Selection Process
Merit List: A trade-wise merit list will be prepared based on the average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (10th) and ITI, giving equal weightage to both.
Document Verification: Candidates selected in the merit list, approximately 1.5 times the number of slots available, will be called for verification of original documents, certificates (caste, PwBD, ex-servicemen, etc.), and medical certificate as per the prescribed format.
Stipend Details
PLW apprentices will receive different stipends annually during their training. The stipend for the first year of training will be Rs. 9,600 per month. The stipend for the second year of training (for 1-year ITI candidates in Welder and Mechanical Diesel trades) will be Rs. 10,560 per month. The stipend for the third year of training (for 2-year ITI candidates in Machinist, Electrician, and Fitter trades) has been fixed at Rs. 11,040 per month.

Now, click on the “New Registration” or “Apply Online” link and register by filling in your basic information.
After registration, log in using your login details (User ID and Password).
Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications, and trade-related information correctly.
Upload the required documents such as ITI certificate, caste certificate, photograph, and signature.
If applicable, pay the prescribed fee online.
Submit the application form and save or print a hard/soft copy for future reference.
