The Railways have brought a great opportunity for unemployed youth. Especially those who have passed matriculation and have been looking for employment for a long time can now join the Indian Railways, not only finding employment but also having the opportunity to serve their region. Halt agents are being appointed at five halt stations, including Belari Halt, on the Samastipur-Ujiarpur section. The Sonpur Railway Division has opened the application process, and interested candidates can apply until October 6, 2025.

Which are these halt stations?
The halt stations where the Sonpur Railway Division is appointing halt agents include Belari Halt, Barauni Flag, Dhabauli, Ghatori, and Singhaul Halt. The mandatory requirement for applying candidates is that they must be residents of the respective halt station. Upon selection, the halt agent will be paid a railway-determined honorarium (remuneration).

Although this appointment will be purely contract-based, the agent will be responsible for station operations, including ticket distribution, passenger assistance, and periodic reporting. Interested candidates can apply after reviewing the relevant regulations.

What will the Halt Agent do?

The role of a Halt Agent will not be limited to ticketing. The selected agent will also be responsible for station cleanliness, security, and administrative operations. This appointment will not only provide employment opportunities but also give young people a chance to play a prestigious role in their field.

This initiative by the Railways is considered a major step towards increasing employment in rural and semi-urban areas. For young people who have long struggled with unemployment, this could provide a meaningful and lasting opportunity.
