Railway Jobs for 10th Pass: A golden opportunity has arisen for young individuals preparing to work in the Indian Railways. The South East Central Railway (SECR) has released a recruitment notification for Trade Apprentices for the year 2026-27. A key highlight of this recruitment drive is that candidates will not be required to appear for any written examination; selection will be made directly based on merit. Through this railway recruitment, a total of 1,644 vacancies will be filled.

This recruitment drive has been announced for the Raipur Division and the Wagon Repair Shop. The recruitment covers various trades, including Fitter, Electrician, Welder, COPA, Machinist, Stenographer (Hindi), Stenographer (English), and Mechanic.

**Candidates Who Have Passed 10th Grade and ITI Are Eligible to Apply**

To apply for this recruitment, it is mandatory for a candidate to have passed the 10th grade from a recognized board. Additionally, the candidate must have secured a minimum of 50 percent marks in the 10th grade. The Railways has explicitly clarified that applications from candidates securing 49.9 percent marks will not be accepted. Furthermore, candidates must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade, recognized by either the NCVT or SCVT.

**Age Limit Relaxation for Reserved Categories**

For this recruitment, the minimum age limit for candidates has been set at 15 years, and the maximum age limit at 24 years. The age of the candidates will be calculated as of May 5, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the age limit in accordance with government regulations. Candidates from the SC and ST categories will receive a relaxation of 5 years, while those from the OBC category will receive a relaxation of 3 years. Additionally, candidates with disabilities and ex-servicemen will also be granted concessions as per the applicable rules.

**Selection Process: How Candidates Will Be Selected Without an Exam**

For the SECR Apprentice recruitment, neither a written examination nor an interview will be conducted. Candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared using the marks obtained in their 10th-grade examinations and ITI courses. While preparing the merit list, equal weightage—50 percent each—will be assigned to the marks obtained in both the 10th grade and the ITI course. Subsequently, shortlisted candidates will be called in for document verification and a medical examination. 

**Application Deadline**
The online application process commenced on May 5, 2026. Interested candidates may apply until 11:59 PM on June 4, 2026. Applications will be accepted exclusively through the online mode.

**How ​​to Apply?**
Candidates must first visit the website – apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Subsequently, register yourself and create a Login ID. Next, navigate to the ‘Establishment Search’ section, search for "SECR Raipur," and click on the ‘Apply’ button corresponding to your specific trade. Thereafter, upload your Class 10th marksheet, ITI certificate, Aadhaar card, photograph, and signature. Once all the required information has been entered, submit the form and save a printout for future reference.
