RRC NWR has initiated this recruitment for the year 2026-27 under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The notification was issued on October 1, 2026. The online application process will begin on October 7, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply until 11:59 PM on November 6, 2026. Additionally, there are 101 slots at BTC Carriage Ajmer, 69 at BTC Loco Ajmer, 33 at Carriage Workshop Bikaner, and 67 at Carriage Workshop Jodhpur. Combining the slots from all these units brings the total count to 2,008.

In which trades will apprentice training be available?

Under this recruitment, training will be provided in various trades across different railway units. These trades include Fitter, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, Welder, Carpenter, Electronics Mechanic, and Computer Operator and Programming Assistant. Candidates must select only one unit from the available options; a single candidate cannot submit multiple applications for different units.

**50% Marks in Class 10 Required**

To apply for the RRC NWR Apprentice recruitment, candidates must have passed the Class 10 examination (or an equivalent exam) from a recognized board. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Class 10 is mandatory. Rounding off of marks is not permitted. Additionally, candidates must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade. This certificate must be issued by either the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT). Candidates whose final exam results have not yet been declared are ineligible to apply for this recruitment.

**Age Limit: 15 to 24 Years**

Regarding the age limit, candidates must be at least 15 years old and must not have completed 24 years of age as of November 6, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per the rules: a 5-year relaxation for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.

**No Written Exam; Merit Based on Class 10 and ITI Marks**

A key feature of this recruitment is that candidates are not required to take a written examination for selection. A merit list will be prepared based on the applications received. To determine the merit, a simple average of the percentage of marks obtained in Class 10 and the ITI course in the relevant trade will be calculated. The merit list for candidates will be prepared based on this criterion. Subsequently, a final merit list will be compiled, categorized by division, unit, trade, and community. Candidates with higher percentage marks will be ranked higher on the merit list, subject to the number of available slots. In the event of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference. The selection process will also include document verification and a medical test.

**Application Fee: ₹100; Exemption for Women**
The application fee for this recruitment is ₹100. Candidates required to pay the fee may do so online. SC, ST, PwBD, and female candidates are exempted from the application fee. Payment can be made via debit card, credit card, or internet banking. Candidates are responsible for covering any transaction charges incurred during online payment. Please note that no changes to the application will be permitted once the fee has been paid.

**Aadhaar and Class 10 Details in the Application**
When applying, candidates must provide their personal details, Aadhaar number, Class 10 information, and details regarding their technical qualifications. Therefore, it is advisable to have all necessary documents and information ready before filling out the form. A candidate may apply for only one unit. Submitting more than one application may lead to cancellation; hence, special care should be taken when selecting the unit and trade.
