Railway Announces Massive Recruitment, 22,000 Vacancies for 10th Pass Youth; Here's the Salary
Railway Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is soon going to start the application process for the recruitment of 22,000 Group D Level-1 posts, giving an opportunity to 10th pass youth.
A big relief has come for lakhs of young people dreaming of getting a job in the railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has completed preparations for a bumper recruitment drive for Group D Level-1 posts. Under this recruitment, approximately 22,000 posts will be filled across the country. It is believed that this will be one of the biggest railway recruitments in the coming times, giving 10th pass youth a golden opportunity to get a government job.
Under this recruitment drive, appointments will be made to posts such as Pointsman, Assistant, Track Maintainer Grade-IV in the railways. In addition, Group D Level-1 posts will also be filled in engineering, electrical, mechanical, and other technical departments. All these posts are related to the operation and maintenance of the railways, and their role is considered very important. According to information received from the Railway Recruitment Board, the online application process for Group D Level-1 recruitment will start from January 21. Interested candidates can apply till February 20.
What are the required qualifications?
To apply for this recruitment, the candidate must have passed 10th standard from a recognized board. Additionally, if the candidate has an ITI or NAC certificate, it can prove beneficial for them in technical departments. The railways have clarified that the minimum educational qualification has been kept as 10th pass so that as many young people as possible can participate in this recruitment.
What will be the age limit?
For Railway Group D recruitment, the minimum age of the candidate has been fixed at 18 years and the maximum age at 33 years. Reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per government rules. OBC candidates will get a 3-year age relaxation in the maximum age limit, while SC and ST candidates will get a 5-year relaxation.
How much salary will be paid?
Candidates selected for Group D Level-1 will receive a basic salary of ₹18,000 in Level-1 as per the 7th Pay Commission. In addition, they will receive dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other allowances as per railway rules.
How will the selection process work?
First, candidates will have to take a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Successful candidates will then be called for a Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This stage will assess the candidate's physical fitness. Candidates who pass the PET will have their documents verified, followed by a medical test. Only candidates who successfully complete all stages will be finally selected.
What is the application fee?
The application fee for this recruitment is ₹500 for General and OBC category candidates. However, if a candidate appears for the CBT exam, ₹400 will be refunded. The application fee for SC, ST, female, and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates is ₹250.
