What are the eligibility criteria for a Professor?
To apply for the Associate Professor post, candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject with an excellent academic record. They must also have completed their degree with at least 55 percent marks. In addition, they should have at least 8 years of experience in any academic/teaching/research field.
For the Professor post, along with a Ph.D. degree, the candidate must have also done high-quality publication work. They must have also obtained a total of 120 research points as per the rules set by the UGC. Along with this, a minimum of 10 years of experience at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level in a university is required. Qualifications are as per UGC norms.
