Police Recruitment 2025: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the state government will soon fill more than 12,000 vacant posts in the police department. Majhi made this announcement on Wednesday after returning from Delhi, where he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and hosted a two-day investor conference.

20 new cyber police stations will be set up

The Chief Minister said that in the meeting with Shah, the implementation of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), and Indian Evidence Act (BNA) in the state was discussed. He also said that the meeting also discussed the increasing cases of cybercrime. He told Shah that to deal with this threat, 20 new cyber police stations will be set up in the state and the post of crime scene officer will be created in all the police stations.

How many will be recruited in which department?

Majhi said that the Home Minister has assured the state government of all possible support to maintain law and order. He said that the state government will soon fill 12,000 vacant posts in the Home Department, which will help in maintaining law and order in the state. According to the Chief Minister, out of these, 3,003 posts will be filled in Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF), 3,000 posts in Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), 2,000 traffic personnel, 5,000 home guards, 267 in Directorate of Public Prosecution and 254 posts in the State Forensic Science Department.

95 thousand people are likely to get employment

This announcement has been made at a time when the opposition is attacking the government over the increasing crime against women after the BJP came to power in Odisha in June last year. It alleges that the law and order situation in the state is continuously deteriorating. In the investors' conference held in Delhi, the state government signed 13 MoUs and received 15 investment proposals worth Rs 1.03 lakh crore, which is likely to provide employment to more than 95,000 people.
