Prime Minister Internship Scheme 2025: The application process for the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS) has been started once again. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) said on Thursday that applications are being invited once again for the second round of the pilot project of the Prime Minister's Internship Scheme. Under this scheme, youth between 21 years to 24 years will be given 12 months of paid internship in top companies in India. Let us tell you that more than six lakh applications were received in the first phase of the PM Internship Scheme. At the same time, in the second phase of PMIS, more than one lakh internship opportunities will be provided to students in top companies in more than 730 districts of the country. In this round, each candidate can apply for a maximum of three internships.

Target of PM Internship Scheme

The target of this scheme is persons in the age group of 21 to 24 years who are not currently enrolled in any full-time academic program or employment. This scheme provides a unique opportunity for such people to restart their careers. According to the ministry, eligible candidates can search and select internships based on their preferred district, state, sector, and region.

Interns will get 5 to 6 thousand rupees.

Under the PM Internship Scheme, each intern will be given monthly financial assistance of Rs 5,000. In addition, the intern will also be given a one-time financial assistance of Rs 6,000.

Opportunities in these top companies

Under the internship, the youth will get the opportunity to train in more than 300 top companies in oil, gas, energy, banking and financial services, travel and hospitality, automotive, metal & amp, mining manufacturing, industrial, fast-moving consumer foods (FMCG) and many other sectors. During the training, along with learning, there will also be an opportunity to network with professionals, which will increase the chances of employment.

Over 70 IEC events

For the second phase of the PM Internship Scheme, over 70 IEC events are being organized across India in districts where opportunities are available for internships based on the required qualifications. Such as in colleges, universities, ITI, job fairs, etc.

One crore internships in top 500 companies in five years

The second round of the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS) Pilot Project started on January 9. Announced in the General Budget 2024-25, the scheme aims to provide internship opportunities to one crore youth in the top 500 companies in five years and the pilot project started on 3 October 2024, with a target to provide 1.25 lakh internship opportunities in the financial year 2024-25.
