PCS Jobs on the Touchstone of Documentation: The Fate of 154 Selected Candidates Now Rests on Their Documents
UPPSC PCS 2024: The selection of 154 candidates chosen in the UPPSC PCS 2024 results currently hangs in the balance, as their requisite documents are incomplete.
As soon as the results of the PCS examination were declared in Uttar Pradesh, a wave of joy swept through hundreds of households. The dreams of many young aspirants were realized, and years of hard work finally bore fruit. However, amidst this jubilation, a cause for concern has arisen for 154 of the selected candidates.
On March 29, the UPPSC announced the final results for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services Examination (PCS) 2024. This examination aims to fill a total of 947 vacancies across 24 different categories of posts—ranging from administrative roles to positions within the Jail Department. Along with the results, the Commission issued a crucial notification that has heightened the anxiety of these 154 candidates.
What is the Issue?
Candidates who did not appear for the interview round could not undergo the mandatory document verification process. Consequently, the term "Provisional" appears alongside their results. This signifies that their selection is not yet considered fully confirmed.
Furthermore, there are 151 other candidates who *did* undergo document verification prior to their interviews, yet discrepancies were discovered in their files. In some instances, certificates were incomplete; in others, there were errors regarding dates; and in some cases, essential documents were missing entirely. The Commission is now offering all these candidates a second opportunity to complete and submit their documentation. The Commission has stated that until these candidates submit the correct and complete set of documents, their names cannot be forwarded to the government for final recommendation.
Recommendations Will Not Be Sent to the Government Without Complete Documentation
Alongside the results, the Commission has explicitly stated that candidates whose names are marked as "Provisional" (*Aupbandhik*) must submit all their necessary documents within the stipulated timeframe. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their selection. Documents Are Crucial
Experts advise candidates to carefully verify all their certificates at the very time of submitting their applications. Date of birth, educational qualifications, caste certificates, and domicile certificates—everything must be accurate and up-to-date. Even a minor error can lead to significant complications.
New Date to Be Announced Soon
The Commission will now shortly announce a new date for the document verification process for these 154 candidates. Candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the Commission's website and official notifications, and to ensure they appear on time.
