OPTCL Management Trainee Vacancy: Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has announced recruitment for Management Trainee (Electrical) positions through GATE 2026. **What are the Application Conditions?**
It is mandatory for candidates to have appeared for GATE 2026 (Electrical Engineering - EE) and to have secured a good score therein. Please note that only the GATE score obtained in 2026 will be considered valid; scores from previous years will not be accepted.

Regarding educational qualifications, candidates must possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. A minimum aggregate score of 60% marks is required for candidates belonging to the General category, while 50% marks are required for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Candidates whose marks are awarded in terms of CGPA or OGPA must convert them into percentages in accordance with their respective university's regulations.

Furthermore, it is mandatory for candidates to possess knowledge of the Odia language; specifically, they must be able to read, write, and speak Odia. A prerequisite for this is that the candidate must have studied Odia as a subject in school, completed their matriculation through the Odia medium, or passed an examination in the Odia language conducted by a recognized authority.

**What is the Application Fee?**
In this recruitment process, the application fee has been determined based on the candidate's category. Candidates belonging to the Unreserved (UR) and SEBC categories are required to deposit ₹1,180 (inclusive of online transaction charges), while the fee for candidates in the SC, ST (applicable only to candidates from Odisha), and PwBD categories has been set at ₹590 (inclusive of online transaction charges). Furthermore, regular departmental employees of OPTCL are granted a complete exemption from the application fee.

**Salary Details**
During the training period (1 year), selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹50,000 per month. Upon successful completion of the training, they will be appointed to the post of Assistant Manager (Electrical) with a pay scale ranging from ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 (Level EE-2), which could amount to a total annual package of approximately ₹15 lakhs.
