IIT Delhi Director Vacancy: Applications have been invited for the position of Director at IIT Delhi, one of the country's premier engineering colleges. The notification for this recruitment has been issued by the Department of Higher Education under the Union Ministry of Education. The deadline to apply is October 31. According to the notification, the Director will serve as the academic and administrative head of IIT Delhi.

Candidates must hold a PhD and possess a first-class or equivalent qualification at the preceding degree level. Applicants must have an outstanding academic record and at least 10 years of teaching experience as a professor at a reputed engineering or technology institute or university. Experience in guiding PhD students and at least five years of administrative experience are also mandatory.

Regarding the age limit, candidates must be under 60 years of age as of the application deadline.

Salary and Tenure
The position carries a fixed monthly salary of ₹2.25 lakh plus applicable allowances. The appointment will be for a term of five years or until the individual attains the age of 70, whichever is earlier.

Required Documents
Candidates are required to submit a detailed résumé outlining their teaching, research, industry-academia engagement, and administrative experience. Additionally, they must provide a two-page justification explaining their suitability for the role, along with a two-page vision statement for IIT Delhi. Applicants must provide the contact details of at least two eminent individuals familiar with their professional work.

Candidates employed in government departments, autonomous organizations, or public sector undertakings must apply through the proper channel.
The fully completed application and necessary documents must reach the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, by October 31, 2026, via registered post or speed post.
