**Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor Post**

To be eligible for the Assistant Professor post, candidates must hold a Master's degree in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian or foreign university. A minimum of 55% marks in the Master's degree is mandatory for General category candidates. Candidates from reserved categories will be granted relaxation in marks as per regulations; a minimum of 50% marks is required for SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category candidates. Additionally, PhD holders who completed their Master's degree before September 19, 1991, are also eligible for a 5% relaxation in marks.

**UGC NET Mandatory, but Exemptions Apply**

Qualifying the UGC or CSIR National Eligibility Test (NET) is generally mandatory for the Assistant Professor post. However, certain candidates are exempted from this requirement. This includes candidates who have completed their PhD in regular mode in accordance with UGC regulations. To qualify, the following are mandatory: the thesis must be evaluated by two external examiners, an open viva-voce must have been conducted, and the candidate must have published two research papers and presented two research papers at seminars or conferences.

Additionally, this requirement does not apply to subjects for which the NET examination is not conducted. Candidates who have obtained their PhD from universities ranked among the top 500 globally—according to QS, THE, or ARWU rankings—are also exempt from the NET requirement.

**Interview Following Screening**
Received applications will be screened based on a 100-mark scale, and eligible candidates will be shortlisted for an interview based on this assessment. The screening criteria allocate a maximum of 21 marks for graduation, 25 marks for post-graduation, 7 marks for M.Phil./M.Tech./LL.M./M.Ed., 25 marks for a PhD, 10 marks for NET with JRF, and 8 marks for NET.

**Salary Details**
Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of up to ₹57,700, in accordance with Academic Pay Level-10 and the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. Other government allowances will also be provided.

**Application Fee**
Regarding the application fee, candidates belonging to the Unreserved, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay a fee of ₹500. Conversely, no application fee will be charged to SC, ST, PwBD, or female candidates.
