Army TGC 145: The Indian Army has released a short notification for the Technical Graduate Course (TGC 145), commencing in July 2027. Engineering graduates have an excellent opportunity to become officers in the Indian Army's Corps of Engineers.
According to the notification, the online application process will run from September 30 to October 29. Unmarried engineering graduates can apply by visiting the official website, joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Pre-Commission Training
Candidates selected for the Technical Graduate Course (TGC 145) will undergo pre-commission training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. The training will last for one year, during which candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,400. Candidates who complete the training will be commissioned as Lieutenants and granted one year of ante-dated seniority for the purpose of salary and promotion.
The selection process for the Technical Graduate Course begins with shortlisting based on merit. This is followed by a Service Selection Board (SSB) interview and a medical examination. Finally, a merit list will be prepared, and joining letters will be issued to those whose names appear on it.
Who Can Apply?
According to the notification, candidates applying for the Technical Graduate Course must hold a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in an engineering stream, or a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science.
Candidates currently in the final year of their engineering degree course—who have not yet passed their final-year examinations—are also eligible to apply. They will be required to submit proof of passing the engineering degree examination along with marksheets for all semesters or years. Age Limit
The age limit for the Technical Graduate Course is 20 to 27 years. The age will be calculated as of July 1, 2027. There is no age relaxation for reserved category candidates in this recruitment.
How the SSB Interview is Conducted
The SSB interview for the Technical Graduate Course spans five days. It includes screening on the first day, psychology tests on the second day, GTO tasks and interviews on the third and fourth days, and a conference on the fifth day.
TGC is a technical entry scheme for engineering graduates; therefore, it is natural to face questions regarding the basic concepts of your engineering branch during the interview. However, this should not be viewed merely as a technical viva. The entire process involves an assessment of personality and Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs).
