There is a great opportunity for young individuals looking to undergo training with the state-owned oil company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The company has initiated the application process for 3047 apprentice positions. Candidates who have completed the 10th grade, hold an ITI certificate, possess a diploma, or are graduates are eligible to apply based on their respective qualifications. The online application process began on October 29, 2026, and interested candidates may submit their forms until November 20, 2026.

Recruitment for 3047 Positions
Under this recruitment drive, ONGC will fill apprentice positions across various centers in the country, including Dehradun, Delhi, Jodhpur, Goa, Hazira, Mumbai, Uran, and Panvel. This recruitment is being conducted under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Candidates should note that this is a training program, not a regular government job. The advertisement number for this recruitment is ONGC/APPR/1/2026.

Who Can Apply?
The recruitment is open to candidates ranging from those who have passed the 10th grade to ITI certificate holders, diploma holders, and graduates. However, the educational qualifications vary by trade; therefore, it is essential to check the eligibility requirements for the specific trade in the official notification before applying.

As of November 29, 2026, applicants must be between 18 and 24 years of age. A relaxation in the upper age limit is provided: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 to 15 years for candidates with disabilities (PwD), in accordance with the rules. Additionally, candidates must either be residents of the relevant eligible district or have completed their education there.

Stipend Details
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹8,200 to ₹12,300, depending on their trade and educational qualifications. The training duration for all trades will be 12 months. Candidates who have previously completed an apprenticeship or possess one year or more of work experience are not eligible to apply.

How will candidates be selected?
There will be no written examination for the ONGC apprenticeship recruitment. A merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the candidates' educational qualifications, followed by a document verification process. In the event that two candidates have the same score, the older candidate will be given preference. It has been stated that the recruitment results will be released on December 15, 2026.
