Odisha Police SPO Vacancy 2026: Odisha Police has released an official notification for the recruitment of 800 Special Police Officers (SPO) positions. Interested and eligible candidates can apply offline by sending the application form to the official address. The last date for submission of applications is March 30, 2026.
Salary will be paid as per the rules of the Finance Department of the Government of Odisha. The recruitment exam will be held on April 17, 2026, at 6:30 AM at the Bhubaneswar Police Station/Office. This exam will consist of document verification, a written test, and a personal interview.

Who can apply?
The candidate must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
He must not be more than 65 years of age as on the date of publication of the advertisement.
He must be able to speak, read, and write Odia.
His employment record must be clean (unblemished).
He must not have been convicted of any criminal case or been found guilty of any serious departmental action during his service.
If married, he must not have more than one wife.
He/she must have served in the Odisha Police in the rank of ASI/SR/Inspector.
He/she must have a very good or good CCR/PAR (Performance Appraisal Report) for 60 consecutive months before retirement.
He/she must vacate his/her government accommodation before retirement.
The candidate will be eligible for reappointment for one year.
How will the physical examination be conducted?
Candidates will first undergo a written and physical examination. The physical examination will be conducted by a medical board, whose decision will be considered final. Candidates who fail the physical fitness test will be disqualified from the recruitment process. Only those who pass the physical examination will be eligible to participate in the further process. Candidates must be physically and mentally fit and must be able to run a distance of 5 kilometers in 1 hour.
How will the selection be conducted?
Candidates who pass the medical and physical examinations will be called by the selection board, which will make the final selection. Selected candidates will wear the uniform and identification marks prescribed by the Odisha Police. Along with the application form, it will be necessary to submit two recent passport-size photographs, an education and age certificate, a dismissal certificate, and a character certificate issued by two Group-T Gazetted Officers.
