What are the Eligibility Criteria for a Job at NPCIL?
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering) degree or a 5-year Integrated M.Tech. degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a university/deemed university or institute recognized by AICTE/UGC, with a minimum aggregate score of 60%. Additionally, applicants must hold a valid GATE score from the year 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 in the specific engineering discipline corresponding to their degree. Candidates who are awaiting the results of their final examinations, or who are appearing for their final year/semester exams during 2026, are also eligible to apply. However, upon selection, they will be required to complete their degree and submit their final marks.
**Age Limit:** As of April 30, 2026, the maximum age limit is 26 years for General/EWS candidates, 29 years for OBC candidates, and 31 years for SC/ST candidates. Candidates belonging to the PwBD category will be granted an age relaxation of up to 10 years.
**Selection Process:** Candidates applying for the position of Executive Trainee will be called for a Personal Interview. For this purpose, candidates will be shortlisted in a ratio of 1:12, based on their scores in GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026. Candidates will be notified regarding the interview schedule via email and SMS. Final selection will be based solely on performance in the interview.
**What is the Salary at NPCIL?**
During the training period, you will receive a monthly stipend of ₹74,000. Additionally, a one-time allowance of ₹30,000 will be provided for the purchase of books. Accommodation arrangements will be made by NPCIL, and food/mess facilities will also be provided. Upon successful completion of the training, the candidate will be appointed as a Scientific Officer/C. For this position, the candidate will receive a monthly salary of ₹56,100, in accordance with Level-10 of the Pay Matrix. This will be accompanied by Dearness Allowance and other applicable benefits.
