Now Aadhaar-based biometric verification in government job examinations, SSC will implement it from May.
Aadhaar verification will now be done in SSC exams. The commission believes that this will enable the conduct of a transparent examination.

An important news has come out for the youth preparing for government jobs. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to include Aadhaar based biometric verification in all its upcoming recruitment examinations.
This system will be implemented from May 2025 and at present it will be voluntary. The purpose of this decision is to make the examination process more transparent, secure and smooth.
What is SSC?
SSC is one of the largest recruitment agencies in the country, which conducts examinations for appointment to non-gazetted posts in various ministries and departments of the central government. According to officials, now candidates will get the facility to verify identity using Aadhaar while registering online, filling the application form and registering their presence at the examination centers.
Fraud will be curbed
According to reports, the Commission believes that this new step will prove effective in preventing identity-related irregularities and fraud in the examination system. It has often been seen that some candidates sit in the place of others in the examination or appear in the examination by hiding their identity. Aadhaar based biometric verification will curb such possibilities.
Permission was already given
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Personnel of the Central Government, in a notification issued on 12 September 2024, had allowed SSC to do Aadhaar authentication on a voluntary basis. Under this, the Commission conducts seven major All India examinations including the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) and three departmental competitive examinations.
UPSC has already adopted this method
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already implemented the Aadhaar-based authentication system. The ministry had issued a notification in this regard on 28 August 2024. This decision is considered to be a big step towards ensuring the fairness of the recruitment examinations and the real identity of the candidates.
