ITBP Recruitment 2026: The ITBP has announced recruitment for MBBS graduates. Candidates will need to submit various documents, ranging from an NOC to a caste certificate. ITBP Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has initiated recruitment for Medical Officer positions. Recruitment will be conducted for roles across the BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, and Assam Rifles. Applications are being invited for a total of 282 posts. Candidates can apply until 11:59 PM on September 8, 2026. The application process is comprehensive, requiring approximately 14–15 documents. Let us look at the specific documents required.

Documents required:

Candidates who have been issued an online admit card and called for an interview must bring a clear printed copy of the admit card to the interview center. Additionally, they must carry the original documents listed below, along with a self-attested copy of each. Failure to produce these documents may result in the candidate being denied entry to the interview center.

1. Matriculation/School Leaving Certificate – As proof of age/date of birth.

2. Educational Qualification Certificate – In accordance with the qualifications specified in the recruitment advertisement.

3. Internship Certificate – Proof of having completed the mandatory internship or of currently undergoing the internship. 4. Medical Registration Certificate – Registration certificate issued by the MCI/NMC or State Medical Council.

5. SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate – Candidates belonging to reserved categories must submit a valid certificate in the prescribed format. The certificate must not be issued by an officer below the rank of Tehsildar, SDO, or an equivalent authority.

6. Declaration for OBC-NCL Candidates – OBC-NCL candidates availing reservation benefits must submit a declaration as per Annexure-VI-A. OBC-NCL Certificate – OBC-NCL candidates must submit a Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the prescribed format. This certificate must be based on income from the financial years 2025-26, 2024-25, and 2023-24, and must have been issued prior to the application deadline of September 8, 2026.

7. EWS Certificate – EWS candidates must possess an Income & Asset Certificate. It must be valid for the year 2025-26 based on an assessment of income and assets for the financial year 2024-25 and must have been issued prior to September 8, 2026.

8. NOC – Candidates who are Central Government civilian employees must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in the prescribed format.

9. Discharge Certificate – Ex-Servicemen candidates must submit a discharge certificate.

10. Proof of Citizenship – Any of the following documents may be submitted: Domicile Certificate, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID Card, or Passport.

11. Certificate for West Pakistani Refugees – Candidates belonging to the West Pakistani Refugees category settled in Jammu & Kashmir must submit a certificate in the prescribed format. Additionally, a copy of the relevant electoral roll showing the candidate's name must be submitted.

12. Height Relaxation Certificate – Candidates seeking relaxation in height standards must submit a certificate in the prescribed format if requested by the Recruitment Board.

13. NCC Grade Certificate – Candidates holding an NCC Grade Certificate may submit it as well.

Who can apply? The ITBP has initiated the application process for Medical Officer recruitment; candidates holding an MBBS degree, as well as those possessing a PG degree/diploma or super-specialty qualifications in the relevant field, are eligible to apply. An MBBS degree, permanent registration with the MCI/NMC/State Medical Council, and the completion of a mandatory rotating internship are prerequisites for the Medical Officer post, whereas additional qualifications and experience in the respective specialty are required for Specialist and Super Specialist positions.

ITBP Vacancy: Additional Details

The selection process comprises document verification, a 200-mark interview, a Physical Standard Test (PST), and a Medical Examination Test (MET). Securing a minimum of 40% marks (i.e., 80 marks) in the interview is mandatory. Selected candidates may be appointed to the BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, or Assam Rifles and could be deployed within India or abroad based on service requirements.
