AI-Proof Skills: According to a report, AI is set to replace humans in 25 percent of jobs over the next 10 years; however, many skills—such as leadership and negotiation—will continue to rely on human capabilities.

AI-Proof Skills: These days, AI is the talk of the town everywhere. It is transforming not only the way we work but also the very nature of the workspace. In recent times, AI has led to the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs, and this threat shows no signs of abating. Consequently, current professionals live in fear of having their jobs taken away. Amidst this climate, a new report has emerged identifying several skills that cannot be replaced by AI. These professional skills are poised to easily withstand the wave of artificial intelligence. Let's explore which professionals—based on their specific skill sets—have no need to fear AI.

25 Percent of Jobs to be Automated Within 10 Years

A report by the American AI firm GoHumanize estimates that 25 percent of jobs will become automated over the next decade. This means that tasks currently requiring human intervention will increasingly be performed by machines and AI systems. These tasks include coding, data analysis, content generation, and similar activities. However, despite this trend, there remain numerous skills in which AI cannot replace humans. These skills necessitate human understanding, trust, judgment, and emotional awareness.

Leadership Skills Least Affected by AI: Report

According to the recently released GoHumanize report, AI cannot replace humans in skills such as leadership, teamwork, negotiation, and emotional intelligence. Skills involving people management, understanding emotions, and navigating social situations are expected to experience the least impact from AI. Research suggests that replicating leadership skills poses the greatest challenge for artificial intelligence. AI can handle 31 percent of tasks associated with leadership; however, functions such as inspiring people, resolving conflicts, motivating teams, and making decisions in uncertain situations will remain the domain of humans.

Skills That AI Cannot Replace

Following leadership, teamwork ranks second on the list. Researchers note that teamwork involves various elements—such as building long-term trust—that AI cannot execute in the same way humans can. Negotiation is placed third on the list. Mentoring or coaching occupies the next spot, an area where AI is also expected to have minimal impact. Public speaking is ranked fifth on the list. Other skills included in the list comprise organizational leadership, people management, emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, and change management, among others.
