NMC Recruitment 2025: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced recruitment for Legal Officer positions. This recruitment will be on a short-term contract basis. According to the notification, a total of 2 positions will be filled across the NMC and its four autonomous boards.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply offline. The last date for application is January 12, 2026. Applications received after the deadline or incomplete applications will not be accepted. It is noteworthy that the last date for application was December 31, 2025, which has been extended to January 12, 2026.

Salary:
Selected candidates for the Legal Officer position will be paid according to Level 11 of the 7th Pay Commission.
Minimum Salary: Rs. 67,700 per month
Maximum Salary: Rs. 2,08,700
In addition, Dearness Allowance (DA) and Transport Allowance will be provided at existing rates. However, the remuneration will remain fixed throughout the contract period.
Educational Qualification and Experience
Candidates must possess an LLB degree from a recognized university with at least 55 percent marks.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in advocacy after registration with the Bar Council of India is mandatory.
Candidates with experience working in the legal department of the Central or State Government, or any autonomous organization, will be given preference.
Responsibilities of a Legal Officer
The selected candidate will be required to represent the NMC in various courts and tribunals. Their responsibilities will also include advising the commission on legal and administrative matters, drafting counter-affidavits, replies, briefs, notices, and orders. They will also be responsible for monitoring ongoing litigation across the country, conducting legal research, handling grievances, and performing other assigned duties.
