NIC Recruitment 2026: The National Informatics Centre (NIC), operating under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has invited online applications for direct recruitment to the posts of Scientist-C and Scientist-D. A total of 153 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive.

Scientist-D: 12 Posts
Scientist-C: 141 Posts

**Pay Scale:**

Scientist-D: Pay Level 12 (₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200)
Scientist-C: Pay Level 11 (₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700)
Reservation provisions for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC—Non-Creamy Layer), and the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) have been implemented in accordance with government regulations. Additionally, 6 posts are reserved for candidates with disabilities.

**Qualification and Experience**
Candidates applying for these positions are required to possess a degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related science discipline.

**Valid Qualifications:**
B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc, MCA, M.Phil, or an equivalent qualification such as DOEACC ‘B’ Level and AMIE.

**Subject Areas:** Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Cyber ​​Security, Data Communication, Software Engineering, GIS, Mathematics, Statistics, as well as Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical Engineering.

**Experience:**

Scientist-C: Minimum 4 years
Scientist-D: Minimum 8 years

A Ph.D. is considered a desirable qualification for the post of Scientist-D. Meanwhile, holders of M.Tech, M.E., or M.Phil degrees will be granted a relaxation of two years in the experience requirement.
