Navy SSC Eligibility Criteria: The process of recruitment to the Short Service Commission (SSC) Executive post in the Indian Navy is special for those candidates who want to serve the country with technical proficiency. What is the selection process like?
Candidates are selected for recruitment in the Navy SSC (Short Service Commission) Executive Branch based on merit. There is no written exam. The selection process includes the following stages:
Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their marks obtained in graduation and other qualifications.
Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for the SSB (Service Selection Board) interview, which is a 5-day process.
Medical Test: After clearing SSB, there is a medical test.
Final Merit List: The Merit list is released on the basis of performance in all the stages.
Training and Commission
The selected candidates are given training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala. This is a short service commission, the duration of which is initially 10 years, which can be extended by another 4 years.
Salary (Pay Scale)
After training, the officer is appointed to the rank of Lieutenant. The starting salary is around Rs 56,100 per month (Level 10).
Apart from this, MSP (Military Service Pay), duty allowance, house rent, uniform allowance, and other allowances are also given.
