MRPL Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has announced recruitment for Assistant Engineers based on GATE 2026 scores. What are the application criteria?
The MRPL recruitment includes Assistant Engineer posts in Mechanical, Electrical, and Chemical disciplines. Under the special recruitment drive, there are 8 posts for Mechanical and 3 for Electrical. For the Mechanical post, candidates must hold a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering. For the Electrical post, a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering is required.
Additionally, there are 15 posts in the Chemical discipline. For this post, candidates must possess a BE/B.Tech/B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Engineering, or Petrochemical Technology. Candidates are also required to have a valid score in the relevant GATE 2026 paper.

MRPL Assistant Engineer 2026: Salary and Service Bond

Selected candidates will be placed on a training-cum-probation period. In addition to basic pay, benefits such as DA, HRA/township accommodation, cafeteria benefits, performance-linked pay, and other allowances will be provided in accordance with company rules.
Service Bond
Selected candidates must serve MRPL for a minimum of three years from the date of joining. This period includes the time spent on training and probation.

MRPL Assistant Engineer 2026: Selection Process
Candidates will first be shortlisted based on valid GATE 2026 scores.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Group Discussion (GD) and a Personal Interview (PI).
Shortlisting for the GD and PI stages will be based on the marks obtained out of 100 in GATE 2026.
GATE scores from previous years or other exam cycles will not be considered valid.
Candidates will be called for the GD and PI in a 1:5 ratio (i.e., five candidates for every one post).
In the event of a tie in GATE scores between two or more candidates, preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in their academic qualifications.
A final merit list of candidates will be prepared post-selection in accordance with MRPL's rules.
MRPL reserves the right to add or remove tests from the selection process as required.
What is the application fee?
General, OBC (NCL), and EWS candidates are required to pay a fee of ₹118 at the time of application. This amount comprises an application fee of ₹100 and GST of ₹18. The application fee is non-refundable. Any additional bank charges or transaction fees must be borne by the candidate.
