MPPSC: 1,000 Candidates Register for Each Assistant Registrar Post; Exam to be Held in May...
Recently, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) issued an advertisement for the recruitment of 12 Assistant Registrar positions. The deadline for applying to these posts was set for March 5. Subsequently, the MPPSC also accepted applications accompanied by a late fee of ₹3,000. It is worth noting that the application process for these positions has now closed. However, the MPPSC has received 1,000 applications for every single vacancy. In other words, a total of 12,000 candidates have registered for the 12 available posts.
Exam Date Announced
According to the official notification issued by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, the recruitment examination for the Assistant Registrar posts will be conducted on May 17 across various examination centers throughout Madhya Pradesh. As per the notification, the results are scheduled to be released within one month—specifically, in June. It is pertinent to mention that the MPPSC is conducting recruitment for Assistant Registrar positions after a considerable hiatus. Consequently, there is a possibility that the number of vacancies may be increased following the declaration of the written examination results.
Results to be Released Under the 87-13 Formula
Due to the ongoing litigation regarding OBC reservation, the PSC is releasing the results based on the "87-13 formula." Consequently, the selection list is also being issued in accordance with this specific formula.
One Post to Remain on Hold
Following the declaration of the written examination results, one Assistant Registrar position will be kept on hold. For the recruitment of candidates selected in this examination, the final selection list—to be issued after the interview stage—will comprise only 11 positions.
Over 20 Vacant Assistant Registrar Posts
More than 20 Assistant Registrar positions currently lie vacant across various universities, including Devi Ahilya University (Indore), Barkatullah University (Bhopal), Jiwaji University (Gwalior), and Rani Durgavati University (Jabalpur). It should be noted that the written examination for the recruitment of Assistant Registrars will consist of multiple-choice questions.
