**Qualifications for Subedar Stenographer**

Eligible candidates who are residents of Madhya Pradesh and qualify under the inter-caste marriage incentive scheme may be granted an additional five-year relaxation on the base age limit. The maximum age limit will be 43 years.
What is the salary?
The pay scale for the post of Subedar (Ministerial) is ₹36,200 to ₹1,14,800.
The pay scale for the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Ministerial) is ₹19,500 to ₹62,000.
The prescribed contributory pension scheme will apply to selected candidates.
How many stages are there in the recruitment process?
The selection process will consist of a computer-based written examination and a skill test. Marks from both the written examination and the skill test will be included in the final merit list.
First Stage: Written Examination
The written examination will carry a total of 100 marks. It will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, and candidates will have two hours to complete the exam. There will be no negative marking in this examination.
What will the skill test in the second stage entail?
Following the written examination, candidates numbering seven times the available vacancies (based on post and category) will be called for the skill test. The skill test will carry 100 marks. Securing a minimum of 30 percent marks in this section is mandatory.
For Subedar (Stenographer)
There will be two Hindi shorthand examinations. Each will consist of a five-minute dictation at a speed of 100 words per minute. The dictation itself carries 20 marks, while the transcription (writing/typing) carries 80 marks.
For Assistant Sub-Inspector
There will be a Hindi typing examination. Candidates will be required to type two passages of 600 words each. A duration of 30 minutes will be allotted for each passage.
