Actually, on April 1, 2025, the Union Education Ministry had a meeting with all the states, in which the annual action plan report of Samagra Shiksha was sought from all the states. In the annual action plan report presented by the Madhya Pradesh government, it has been said that more than 50 thousand posts of teachers are vacant in the state. On this, the Union Education Ministry has asked the state government to fill these posts by December 2025.

More than 47 thousand posts are vacant in primary schools alone

According to the report presented by the Madhya Pradesh government to the Union Education Ministry, more than 50 thousand teacher posts are vacant in the state, of which 47122 posts of teachers alone are vacant in primary schools. Similarly, 2877 posts of teachers are vacant in secondary schools and 2022 posts of teachers are vacant in higher secondary schools.

One teacher in more than 12 thousand schools in MP

More than 12 thousand schools in Madhya Pradesh are running with the help of one teacher. However, there has been a decrease in this compared to the past years. According to the report, 9620 primary schools in Madhya Pradesh are being run with the help of one teacher, while the number of higher secondary schools running with the help of one teacher is 2590. Although last year 12337 primary schools were running with the help of one teacher, the number of such schools at the upper primary level was 3290.

Similarly, out of the total 1,23,412 schools in the state, 23,087 schools have less than 30 children, which was 21,810 in 2022-23. Similarly, there are 1,367 schools with less than 30 children at the upper primary level. The number of such schools was 1,224 in 2022-23.
