Massive Recruitment Drive for Over 13,000 Posts in IBPS RRB; Salaries Up to ₹30,000

The application process for the posts of Office Assistant and Officer Scale 1, 2, and 3 has commenced. A total of 13,441 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for the recruitment process in Regional Rural Banks (RRBs). Consequently, the application process for the posts of Office Assistant and Officer Scale 1, 2, and 3 has begun. A total of 13,441 positions will be filled. The application process for IBPS RRB recruitment started on September 1, 2026. Interested candidates can apply online until September 21, 2026.

Applications Accepted Until September 21

Candidates can apply online by visiting the official IBPS website. The deadline for completing the application process and paying the prescribed fee is September 21. Once the application process concludes, a correction window will be made available for candidates to make necessary changes to their forms.

Application Fee and Eligibility

For IBPS RRB recruitment, candidates belonging to the General category are required to pay an application fee of ₹850. Meanwhile, the application fee for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates has been set at ₹175. Additionally, candidates applying for the Office Assistant post must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. Proficiency in the local language designated for the specific Regional Rural Bank is also mandatory. The age limit for the Office Assistant post is generally set between 18 and 28 years; however, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with government regulations.

Selection via Preliminary and Main Exams

Candidates must clear both the preliminary and main examinations to be selected for the Office Assistant post. There is no interview stage for this position; the final merit list is prepared based on performance in the main examination. The preliminary exam will consist of 80 questions carrying a total of 80 marks, with a duration of 45 minutes. Negative marking applies for incorrect answers. The main examination will comprise 200 questions totaling 200 marks, with a duration of 2 hours.

Exams Likely in November-December

According to IBPS, the preliminary examination for Officer Scale Level 1 posts is likely to be held in November-December 2026. The preliminary exam for the Office Assistant post is proposed for December 6, 12, and 13, 2026, while the main exam is expected to take place on January 30, 2027. The preliminary exam for Officer Scale posts is proposed for November 21 and 22, 2026, and the exams for Officer Scale 2 and 3 are scheduled for December 20. However, this schedule is currently considered tentative.

Salary Could Reach Up to ₹30,000

The basic pay for the Office Assistant post is reported to be approximately ₹19,900. In addition to this, employees receive various allowances and other benefits. The salary may vary depending on the place of posting and the specific rules of the Regional Rural Bank. It is estimated that the ‘in-hand’ salary for an Office Assistant could range from approximately ₹28,000 to ₹30,000.
