Maharashtra Police Constable Recruitment 2025: The Maharashtra government has taken an important decision regarding police constable recruitment. The state government has also decided to allow the candidates who have crossed the age limit from 2022 to 2025. Recruitment has come out for 15,631 constable posts in the state police force and jail department. This exemption is a big relief for those youth who were continuously preparing, but were getting out due to the age limit.

According to the notification of the Home Department, earlier exemption was given only to those who crossed the maximum age in 2022 and 2023, but now this scope has been extended to 2024 and 2025. Under the new rule, all the candidates who have crossed the age limit from 2022 to 2025 will be able to apply. The government has also clarified that this exemption is being given only once.

Who put the proposal?

This special exemption was proposed by the Special Inspector General (Training and Special Team) of Maharashtra Police. He wrote a letter on 1 September 2025 suggesting that many eligible candidates should not be left out just because of the age limit. The government took this decision, accepting this suggestion.

Why is this decision special for the candidates?

Many candidates who have been preparing for the last few years will get great relief from this exemption. Especially those candidates whose age had passed in the past years, and they would have been deprived of the application, now they will get another chance to get a job.

How will the selection be done?

Under this recruitment process, the applicants will be selected through a written examination, etc. The exam will be on an OMR sheet. The examination fee has been fixed at Rs 450 for general category applicants and Rs 350 for reserved category applicants. Under this recruitment process, 12,399 posts of Police Constable, 234 posts of Police Constable Driver, 25 posts of Bandsman, 2,393 posts of Armed Police Constable, and 580 posts of Jail Constable are included.
