KVS-NVS Vacancy 2026: A Flood of Job Opportunities in Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas..
KVS-NVS Vacancy 2026: Significant news has emerged for candidates aspiring to secure a teaching position in Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas. According to information released by the government, there are 13,701 vacant teaching positions across numerous Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas throughout the country. Consequently, this presents a golden opportunity for candidates who have already qualified for the CTET examination, as well as for those awaiting their CTET 2026 results.
Specifically, the Ministry of Education informed Parliament on Monday that more than 13,700 teaching posts remain vacant across India's two central school networks. Responding to a written query in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Education Jayant Chaudhary confirmed that there are 8,618 vacancies in Kendriya Vidyalayas and 5,083 vacancies in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, resulting in a cumulative shortage of 13,701 teaching positions across both school systems nationwide.
Jayant Chaudhary cited several reasons for this situation. He explained that the opening of new schools, retirements, resignations, promotions, inter-departmental transfers, and the upgradation of schools collectively lead to new vacancies arising at a pace significantly faster than the rate at which existing positions are filled.
He informed the House, "Filling vacant positions is a continuous process, and efforts are made to fill these vacancies in accordance with the provisions of the relevant recruitment rules."
Meanwhile, to address the vacancies, both Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are recruiting teachers on a contractual basis. This serves as a temporary measure deemed necessary by the Ministry to ensure that classroom instruction remains uninterrupted while the regular recruitment process is underway.
Jayant Chaudhary stated, "Efforts are made to recruit regular teachers as expeditiously as possible to ensure that the interests of the students are not compromised." He further added that the past performance record of Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in public examinations clearly demonstrates that academic standards and student performance levels are being effectively maintained.
